Securing Backless Booster Seat in Vehicle

13.6 Using Shoulder Belt Positioning Clip

Use the Shoulder Belt Positioning Clip (Fig 74-1)

to center the vehicle shoulder belt on the child’s

shoulder. Shoulder belt MUST be centered

on child’s shoulder as shown. (Fig 74-2)

Attaching the Shoulder Belt Positioning

Clip to backless booster:

1. Unhook elastic loops at the back of the

Seat Pad and lift the Seat Pad up. Set

aside the Harness Adjuster Strap and

lift open the hatch. (Fig 74-3)

2. Lay Shoulder Positioning Belt Clip out on

at surface with free end on top.

3. Thread the loop end of the strap through the

slot on the rear of the booster seat.

6. Position the lap/shoulder belt so that it lies

across the child’s shoulders as shown.

(Fig 73-1) If the vehicle shoulder belt

does not lie across the child’s shoulder as

shown, the Shoulder Belt Positioning Clip

MUST be used. See Section 13.6 Using

Shoulder Belt Positioning Clip.

7. Check t of the vehicle seat belts on child:

- Vehicle lap belt must be low on

hips contacting the thighs.

- Vehicle shoulder belt must contact the chest

and be centered on the shoulder. Use the

shoulder belt positioner clip to adjust the

position of the vehicle shoulder belt.

- DO NOT place vehicle shoulder belt

under child’s arm or behind child.

IMPORTANT: The booster seat should not move more than one 1” (2.5

cm) side-to-side or back and forth. If booster seat is not secure, repeat

the installation procedure or nd another seat location for the booster

seat. (See Section 8.0 Selecting the Best Vehicle Seat Location)
